Rally Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet.

Above is the Rally Volunteer List. As you can see we need a lot of help. If you are attending the rally, please consider donating 4-1/2 hours of your time to help out.

Our club has 250 members and if the volunteer time was spread over half these members and the rally dates and times it would not be a big impact to any one person. Just four and a half consecutive hours of duty time over the course of the rally would be a great help.

Are Parades The Only Thing We Do?

  • Convoys & Trail Rides

Another fun thing is convoys or trail rides. Convoys have been arranged for scenic drives in the summer and fall to see the flora in bloom and the fall to enjoy the color display of autum leaves. There are some great secondary roads in the WAC/B&G MVT membership area that have given us some very scenic drives off the beaten paths and through some scenic countryside that ending up at a picnic or picturesque restaurant. In the summer 2005 we convoyed to the battlefields of Gettsyburg and drove through the mountains. In the fall of 2005 we convoyed from the Antietam Battlefield to Harpers Ferry and had lunch at the Hilltop Inn Restaurant. For the summer of 2006, we convoyed through the mountains near Thurmont. At the end of October will be the trail ride through Green Ridge State Forest.

  • Poker Run

Motorcycles do it. Bicycles do it. Boats do it. Airplanes do it. Do What?? Has anyone given any though to a Poker Run for military vehicles? We could organize one of these and have a lot of fun. Just a thought.

Photo Ops Anyone?

Check out the two photos below. These photos look very similar to the French countryside where some WWII skirmishes were fought or where building were used for field headquarters. You could have your very own WWII vehicle posed in these scenes. And you could be dressed in period uniform in a photo for a lot less than a trip to France. Let me know if you are interested.

Catch Up On That Maintenance!

Just a reminder that fall went by too quickly this year. Now is the time to do that maintenance on your vehicles to get them ready for the spring.
